Powerline Innovations [NPE] filed suit against Alpha Networks, alleging that Alpha Networks’ WD Livewire Powerline AV Network kit products infringe a patent related to controlling networked devices.  Powerline also claimed that the defendant is in breach of a settlement agreement from January 9, 2012.  Powerline has filed five prior suits since August 2011 against over 45 defendants including ASUS, Belkin, Broadcom, Cisco, Logitech, Motorola Mobility, Netgear, Panasonic, Qualcomm, Sharp, STMicro and Western Digital. Philip Zimmerman is the named inventor on the patent-in-suit, which was assigned to Powerline by Cyberlynx in July 2011.  Powerline is represented by Hao Ni.  6/21, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 6:2012cv00396.
