Texas NPE’s Inaugural Suits Target Storage Devices with Patents Acquired from IV

Digital Cache, LLC has kicked off its first litigation campaign with suits against Kingston Technology (6:21-cv-00163), Toshiba (6:21-cv-00161), and Transcend Information (6:21-cv-00164) in the Western District of Texas and Seagate Technology (1:21-cv-00536) in the District of Colorado. Four data management patents, received in a portfolio of over 40 from Intellectual Ventures LLC (IV) in May 2020, are asserted in overlapping sets. The defendants are accused of infringement through the provision of storage devices, including hard disk drives (HDD) and solid state drives (SSDs).
