New NPE Sues Cable Companies over Cisco and Motorola Products

FutureVision.com [NPE] filed suit against Cequel, Charter, Comcast, and Time Warner Cable, alleging that the defendants’ cable systems that provide interactive services infringe a patent related to facilitating interactive television. The complaint identifies Cisco and Motorola set-top boxes, a Motorola controller, and Rovi’s i-Guide software as the allegedly infringing products. This is the first patent infringement suit initiated by FutureVision.com (a former operating entity).   6/18, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 6:2012cv00386.
