Swipe Innovations [NPE] filed three separate suits against TechTrex, TransFirst Holdings, and WorldPay US, alleging that the defendants’ payment terminal products infringe a patent related to encrypting PIN pads.  Swipe has filed three prior suits since March 2012 against more than 10 defendants, including Capital One, Fujitsu, Honeywell, and Motorola.  The patent-in-suit originated with Niobrara Research & Development before being assigned to Swipe Innovations by FTE Exchange in November 2011.  (FTE Exchange is also linked to the Garnet Digital litigations.)  5/18, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 9:2012cv00073; 9:2012cv00074; 9:23012cv00075.
