Acacia’s Adaptive Sonics Sues Cochlear with Patent from AT&T

Adaptive Sonics [NPE], a subsidiary of Acacia Research, filed suit against Cochlear Limited, alleging that Cochlear’s hearing aids infringe a patent related to adaptive microphone arrays.  Adaptive Sonics has filed four prior suits since January 2012 against GN Resound, Sonics Innovations, Starkey Laboratories, and Widex. The patent-in-suit originated with AT&T and was assigned to Lucent Technologies and Agere Systems before being assigned to Adaptive Sonics in October 2011.  4/26, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 2:2012cv00260.
