Pictos Technologies Inc. (f/k/a Imperium IP Holdings (Cayman), Ltd.) first sued Samsung in June 2014, that case resulting in an Eastern District of Texas jury verdict in the plaintiff’s favor that the Federal Circuit overturned in early 2019. Over two years later, Pictos has sued Samsung (4:21-cv-00376) in the same district, asserting a set of three image sensor and processing patents that overlap with four appearing in Pictos’s September 2020 complaint against Samsung before the International Trade Commission (ITC), which alleges trade secret misappropriation. The two complaints target the provision of certain image sensors, as well as a range of devices that incorporate them.
