Golden IP LLC and Lecrew Licensing LLC, both IP Edge LLC plaintiffs, have filed their first cases, Golden IP suing Genius Media Group (1:21-cv-00798), iHeart Media (1:21-cv-00793), SoundCloud (1:21-cv-00795), SoundHound (1:21-cv-00796), and Vimeo (1:21-cv-00797) over their respective media apps (as installed, e.g., on a smartphone) and Lecrew Licensing suing Control4 (1:21-cv-00751), Savant (1:21-cv-00752), and TiVo (Xperi) Systems (1:21-cv-00753) over the provision of systems that allow streaming media from a smartphone to a playback device like a smart speaker. Golden IP (two such patents) and Lecrew (one) assert patents that IP Edge picked up among roughly 50 acquired from Black Hills Media, LLC, an entity associated with Concert Technology Corporation. These new campaigns are the third and fourth to arise from that March 2020 portfolio acquisition.
