ICAP Ocean Tomo Spring Auction Generates Little Interest from Buyers

April 3, 2012

March 30, 2012 – Only five of the 21 lots available in the ICAP Ocean Tomo Spring 2012 live patent auction were sold on March 29th for total procees of approximately $7 million. The majority of the total sales was from the sale of a single lot (42) that sold pre-auction to an unidentified buyer for $6 million. Lot 42 consisted of 10 issued patents and additional issued and pending US and foreign patents related to mobile and telecommunications technologies and originating from Sagem. RPX acquired Lot 11, which included an issued US patent that RPX determined was a potential litigation threat against companies that make and sell mobile handsets that enable a user to associate a captured image with a contact entry.
