“Find My Device” Features Targeted in Named Inventor’s New West Texas Complaint
July 6, 2021
Carolyn W. Hafeman has sued LG Electronics (LGE) (6:21-cv-00696), accusing LGE of infringement through the provision of the “Find My Device” service in various devices (e.g., laptops, smartphones, and tablets). Targeted with six related patents on which Hafeman is the sole named inventor are “systems for displaying the owner’s name and contact information, as well as a remote access system to change the information displayed and lock future uses of the device”; the asserted family generally relates to displaying information on a device to help return a device to its owner.
