IP Edge Expands Streaming Protocol Litigation Campaign Arising from Former Technicolor Assets
Diatek Licensing LLC, an entity associated with Texas monetization firm IP Edge LLC, has fired off another round of suits in its sole litigation campaign, suing AMC Networks (1:21-cv-07238), Fox (1:21-cv-07247), IAC/Interactive (Vimeo) (1:21-cv-07249), and NFL (1:21-cv-07241) in the Southern District of New York. The two asserted patents, each originating with Technicolor subsidiary Thomson Licensing, generally relate to recording a “scrambled digital video stream” and “discontinuous transmission of encoded video data in a network of distributed appliances. The defendants are accused of infringement over the support of the HLS streaming protocol in their various media streaming products and services.
