Adaptive Sonics [NPE] filed four separate suits against GN Resound, Sonics Innovations, Starkey Laboratories, and Widex, alleging that the defendants’ hearing aids infringe a patent related to adaptive microphone arrays.  These are the first patent infringement suits initiated by Adaptive Sonics, a subsidiary of Acacia Research.  The patent-in-suit originated with AT&T and was assigned to Lucent Technologies and Agere Systems before being assigned to Adaptive Sonics in October 2011.  1/13, Eastern District of Texas, 2:2012cv00029.
