NPE Sues Wells Fargo for Savings Programs

Every Penny Counts (EPC) [NPE] filed suit against Wells Fargo Bank, alleging that Wells Fargo’s savings programs enabling customers to round debit card transactions to the nearest dollar and transfer the rounded amount to a bank savings account infringe two patents.  EPC has filed three prior suits since January 2007 against ten financial services providers, including American Express, Bank of America, MasterCard, and Visa.  Bertram Burke is the named inventor on the patents-in-suit and a co-founder of EPC.  12/22, Middle District of Florida, 8:2011cv02826.
