NPE Sues Ten Online Retailers

MacroSolve [NPE] filed ten separate suits against American Airlines, Avis, Continental Airlines, Hertz, Hipmunk, Hotels.com, Priceline, Southwest Airlines, Travelocity, and United Airlines, alleging that the defendants’ travel search applications infringe a patent related to managing data collected from a remote computing device.  MacroSolve has filed five prior suits since March 2011 against over 30 defendants including AT&T, CitiGroup, Dell, Groupon, and Salesforce.  In November 2010, the company received $775,000 from current and other institutional investors to support its patent monetization efforts.  J.
