Zoom Video Targeted over E2EE Technology

November 23, 2021

Cyph has filed suit against Zoom Video Communications (1:21-cv-03027) over the provision of various communications services, including Zoom Meetings, Zoom Marketplace, Zoom Video Webinars, Zoom Chat, Zoom Phone System, Zoom Events, and Zoom Rooms and Workspaces, as well as the Zoom Developer Platform. At issue is the products’ support of end-to-end encryption (E2EE), allegedly implemented using the distribution of a shared “symmetric key” among users and/or from servers. In the new District of Colorado complaint, Cyph asserts six patents, nearly half of its current US portfolio.
