Oracle Continues to Lead Fragmented CRM Software Market
December 22, 2011- IDC reports 18 vendors of customer relationship management (CRM) software generated revenues of more than $100 million revenue during the first half of 2011. These vendors represent a 63% combined market share with the remainder split among 170 other vendors. (CRM software is used for marketing, sales, and customer service and account management.) According to IDC’s report, Oracle was the only vendor with a double digit market share (13%). Salesforce is the second place vendor by market share and had 22% year-over-year sales growth. IDC projects that the overall global CRM market in 2011 will generate more than $18 billion through year end.
