Lens Assembly Litigation Resumes with New Suit Against Lenovo and Motorola Mobility

December 7, 2021

Largan Precision has filed suit against Lenovo (Motorola Mobility) (3:21-cv-09138), asserting six patents described by the plaintiff as related to “compact optical lens assemblies supporting image capture with smaller pixel sizes and increased resolution, resulting in high image quality” in a new Northern District of California complaint. Largan targets the provision of smartphones that incorporate certain camera systems, focusing allegations on the lens assemblies on the Motorola One 5G Ace, the alleged infringement of which was the subject of two letters purportedly sent by Largan in June and August of this year.
