Alidouble Inc. has sued TSMC (2:21-cv-00452) in a new Eastern District of Texas complaint targeting the manufacture of backside-illuminated (BSI) image sensors, including some made for OmniVision, with the accused sensors allegedly incorporated into at least the Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone X. The four patents-in-suit, generally related to semiconductor manufacturing or BSI image sensors, passed from original assignee Tower Semiconductor, an Israeli foundry, through a Hong Kong entity into the Texas plaintiff’s hands.
