December 26, 2021
Westport Fuel Systems has sued Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) (2:21-cv-00454), FCA (2:21-cv-00457), Ford (2:21-cv-00453), GM (2:21-cv-00456), and Nissan (2:21-cv-00455) over the provision of automobiles that incorporate certain diesel engines. Asserted in the set of Eastern District of Texas complaints are two homegrown patents that the plaintiff pleads grew out of 1990s efforts to develop “a fuel injection valve . . . capable of injecting a precise amount of fuel at high pressure into a combustion chamber at a very rapid rate”.
