Jury Awards $23 Million to Fractus in Mobile Antenna Case
A Texas jury returned a verdict of infringement against Samsung and awarded $23 million to Fractus on May 23, 2011. The jury found that four patents related to internal antennas in mobile devices were literally infringed by Samsung. Fractus is a Spanish maker of antenna and related technology. The company initiated two separate suits against handset makers in 2009. A number of companies have since settled.
