Parallel Networks [NPE] filed suit against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online, alleging that Disney’s website infringes a patent related to reducing bandwidth usage and storage consumption over a low speed network. Parallel Networks has filed over a dozen suits since December 2007 against over 175 defendants including Barnes & Noble, Google, Microsoft, Netflix, Priceline, Shutterfly, Sony, Toshiba, and Walgreen. The patent-in-suit originated with Infospinner and was assigned to Epicrealm Licensing and Intellectual Property (IP) Focus before being assigned to Parallel Networks in March 2009. 11/22, Eastern District of Texas, 6:2011cv00631.
