Brandywine Sues Avaya, Digium, Toshiba, and Vertical Communications

Brandywine Communications Technologies [NPE] filed four separate suits against Avaya, Digium, Toshiba, and Vertical Communications, alleging that the defendants’ phone system products infringe a patent related to making voice calls using LAN/WAN modules. Brandywine has filed nine prior suits since August 2011 against over 30 defendants including Apple, AT&T, Audiovox, Futurewei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, LG-Ericsson, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, RIM, Samsung, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. The patent-in-suit originated with Jetstream Communications and was assigned to Brandywine by Rembrandt Communications in August 2010. 11/18, Middle District of Florida, 6:2011cv01841; 6:2011cv01856; 6:2011cv01858; 6:2011cv01859.
