Motorola Mobility Sued in Emergent Mobile Campaign

March 30, 2022

In the third case in its sole litigation campaign, over former Sisvel Technology S.r.l. patents, Emergent Mobile LLC has pared the number of asserted wireless communications patents down from three to two. The new defendant is Lenovo (Motorola Mobility) (3:22-cv-00731). Still targeted are mobile devices—here, “all Motorola phones and smartphones that comply with the LTE standard, including but not limited to the Motorola Moto g STYLUS and the like” with one patent and those that “support ARCore, including but not limited to the Motorola Edge and the like” with the other. Notices of settlement preceded dismissals in the campaign’s two earlier cases, the first filed against LG Electronics (LGE), then Kyocera.
