Autoscribe Sues Sun Trust Banks

Autoscribe and Pollin Patent Licensing (PPL) [NPE] filed suit against Sun Trust Banks, alleging that defendants’ telephone debt collection services infringe a patent related to processing checks by phone.  According to the complaint, Robert Pollin, the named inventor of the patent-in-suit, assigned the patent to Autoscribe and PPL is an exclusive licensee.  Autoscribe and PPL have filed five prior suits against Allstate, AT&T, Capital One, Combine Insurance Services, FIA Card Services, HSBC, Illinois Bell Telephone, SBC Internet, United States Cellular, and Wells Fargo, and were defendants in an action for declaratory judgment brought by Online Resources.  11/14, Middle District of Florida, 6:2011cv01795.
