Autoscribe Sues BB&T

Autoscribe and Pollin Patent Licensing (PPL) [NPE] filed suit against BB&T, alleging that BB&T’s telephone debt collection services infringe a patent related to processing checks by phone.  According to the complaint, Robert Pollin, the named inventor of the patent-in-suit, assigned the patent to Autoscribe and PPL is an exclusive licensee.  Autoscribe and PPL have filed five prior suits against over ten defendants including AT&T and United States Cellular, and were defendants in an action for declaratory judgment brought by Online Resources.  11/7, Western District of North Carolina, 1:2011cv00296.
