Earlier this year, RPX covered the transfer of three patents from Intellectual Discovery Co., Ltd. to VisionX Technologies, LLC, a Texas entity with ties to a familiar figure in patent monetization. VisionX has now filed its first suit, accusing Sony (2:22-cv-00178) of infringing all three received assets—generally related to image sensors—through the provision of certain image sensors and related camera modules. Apple, ASUSTek, Huawei, Motorola, Nokia, and Razer are identified as customers of the defendant, allegedly having incorporated the accused sensors into their various products, but are not named as codefendants.
