Mobile Commerce Framework (MCF) [NPE] filed two separate suits against Groupon and Yelp, alleging that the defendants’ mobile applications infringe a patent related to a subscription-based merchant offers.  MCF filed one prior suit in March 2011 against Foursquare.  The patent-in-suit originated with HotHand and was assigned to MCF in March 2011. 11/7, Southern District of California, 3:2011cv02586; 3:2011cv02589.
