HP to Focus on Software and Acquisitions

HP’s CEO Leo Apotheker (formerly of SAP) will focus on growing the company’s software revenue and will likely focus on acquisitions in the sector. Analysts say Informatica, BMC Software, SAS, Symantec and CommVault are among potential targets. HP currently generates 70% of sales from computers, storage, networking and printers, 27% from IT services, and just  2.2% from software.
