Bell Semic’s Continued Expansion of Its Design Tools Litigation Snags Defendants Old and New
Bell Semiconductor, LLC (Bell Semic) has followed up its round of suits earlier this month with a second, adding new defendants Ambarella, Ampere Computing, ASMedia Technology, Lattice Semiconductor, Marvell, PHISON Electronics, and Sequans Communications while hitting previous defendants AMD, ams-OSRAM, Analog Devices, Infineon Technologies, KIOXIA, MACOM Technology Solutions, Micron Technology, NVIDIA, OmniVision, Rockchip Electronics, Silicon Laboratories, Skyworks Solutions, Socionext, and Western Digital again, all over the provision of certain semiconductor chips or devices that are manufactured using certain design tools, naming Cadence Design Systems, Siemens, and Synopsys as providers of such tools. Across these new complaints, Bell Semic has deployed for the first time two additional patents from its extensive holdings of former Broadcom assets.
