October 3, 2011- Reuters reports that Intel will acquire location-based services provider, Telmap. Reuters cites Israeli media sources that report that Intel is paying between $300-350 million to acquire the company. According to Reuters, “Telmap, which offers location-based services to provide details on traffic data, speed cameras and local offerings, expects to post revenue of $33 million in 2011 and be profitable for the second consecutive year.” Telmap’s offerings include location-aware coupons. RPX recently acquired a portfolio related to the location-based content delivery, Geocom.
