September 28, 2011 – Atmel announced the acquisition of power line chip manufacturer, ADD Semiconductor, for an undisclosed sum. ADD Semiconductor develops System on Chip (SoC) solutions that are used in narrow band communications and digital data processing for smart metering, lighting, and home/building automation applications.
