A new Singapore entity, Multimedia Technologies Pte. Ltd., has launched US litigation, accusing LG Electronics (LGE) (2:22-cv-00494) of infringing 11 patents originating with Flex (f/k/a Flextronics). The plaintiff targets the provision of a variety of features—remote control functionalities, navigation bar tools, and media content formatting and delivery, among others—within smart TVs that incorporate LG webOS. The new case echoes a suit filed in the US by a Singapore entity, over Flex patents, late in 2021.
