Samsung Display has filed a complaint with the International Trade Commission (ITC) that names as proposed respondents a slew of companies that allegedly provide “replacement parts for mobile phones and tablets” in the US: Apt-Ability LLC (d/b/a MobileSentrix) (Mobile Defenders, LLC); Captain Mobile Parts, Inc.; DFW Imports LLC (d/b/a DFW Cellphone & Parts); Electronics Universe, Inc. (d/b/a Repairs Universe, LLC and Fixez.com); eTech Parts Plus, LLC; Gadgetfix Corp.; Group Vertical, LLC; Injured Gadgets, LLC; LCTech International Inc. (d/b/a SEGMobile.com); Mengtor Inc.; Parts4Cells Inc.; Phone LCD Parts LLC (also d/b/a Parts4LCD); Sourcely Plus, LLC; and Wholesale Gadget Parts, Inc. (337-TA-3661). The complainant asserts four patents generally related to AMOLEDs (active matrix organic light-emitting diodes), citing its own provision of displays for a variety of Samsung devices (e.g., various Galaxy smartphones) as well as materials that indicate that each proposed respondent provides replacement screens for certain Apple devices (e.g., various iPhone models).
