BMO Harris National Association filed an action for declaratory judgment against Autoscribe and Pollin Patent Licensing (PPL) [NPE], seeking a declaration that BMO’s payment services do not infringe four patents related to processing checks by phone. Robert Pollin, the named inventor of the patent-in-suit, assigned the patent to Autoscribe and PPL is an exclusive licensee. Autoscribe and PPL have filed six prior suits against over ten defendants including AT&T and United States Cellular, and were defendants in an action for declaratory judgment brought by Online Resources. 11/10, Northern District of Illinois, 1:2011cv07996.
