WiPQTUS Sues Samsung over Reverse Wireless Charging

February 17, 2023

Inventor-controlled NPE WiPQTUS Inc. has kicked off its first litigation campaign with an Eastern District of Texas suit against Samsung (2:23-cv-00054). The plaintiff asserts a single patent generally related to a “dual mode wireless power receiver” that selectively uses power from a “load device” to power a “secondary wireless power receiver” in order to charge that secondary receiver’s “load device”. Samsung is accused of infringement through the provision of smartphones, including the Galaxy S10 and certain subsequent models, that can wirelessly charge a second device using the Wireless PowerShare reverse wireless charging feature.
