Web Sources Report Google Plans to Acquire Mobile Patent Portfolio for $4.9 Million

May 19, 2011- Several Web sources are reporting that Google will pay $4.9 million to acquire a portfolio of mobile device patents from a now defunct mobile device company, Modu. According to USPTO records, Modu has received 18 issued patents and has 45 pending published applications.
