Inventor-Backed NPE Targets User Collaboration Tools in New Wave of Suits
Inventor-controlled Web 2.0 Technologies LLC has filed another round of suits in the litigation campaign that it launched in early January, suing Alphabet (Google), Atlassian (Trello) (a second time), Mavenlink, Moxtra, ProofHub, and Workzone, each in the District of Delaware; Freedcamp in the Central District of California; and Nulab, also for a second time, in the Southern District of New York. The two asserted patents, originally developed at Pennar Software, generally relate to managing the transmission of a user’s personal information to other users and managing and tracking user changes to a document. The defendants are targeted over the provision of products (e.g., software, tools, and web applications) that support features related to user collaboration.
