RPX Publishes First Quarter Digest

April 15, 2023

This past week, RPX published its quarterly review of patent litigation and market activity, a topline of which is a drop in the overall litigation numbers based primarily on two factors, one of which is the pause in new filings by former prolific monetization firm IP Edge. In response to pressure from Delaware Chief Judge Colm F. Connolly concerning the control of certain plaintiffs, cases tied to IP Edge dropped to zero in Delaware, a former favorite venue, and then to zero everywhere. That pause has now persisted for four straight months.
