Negotiated Data Solutions (NDS) [NPE] filed suit against Apple, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, RIM, and Samsung over four patents related to USB products for mobile phones.  NDS filed one prior suit against Dell in 2003 and was the subject of two actions for declaratory judgment filed by Intel in 2008.  The patents-in-suit originated with National Semiconductor Corporation and were assigned to Vertical Networks before being assigned to NDS in 2003.  9/7, Eastern District of Texas, 2:2011cv00390.
