Better Browsing LLC has followed its January 2023 case against Opera Norway (f/k/a Opera Software) (2:23-cv-00020) in the Eastern District of Texas with a trio of suits in the same district, one against each of HP Enterprise (HPE) (2:23-cv-000300), Lenovo (2:23-cv-00301), and Samsung (2:23-cv-00302). The Texas plaintiff how targets the provision of Chromebooks with Google Chrome preinstalled over the inclusion of features for “group bookmarking and web page zooming”; the earlier suit focuses on Opera Bookmarks, Opera Speed Dial, and Opera Pinboards features within the Opera web browser. Two patents, among three assigned to Better Browsing by Texas monetization firm Empire IP LLC on January 3, 2023, are asserted in each complaint.
