CelLink Sues Company Formed by Two Former Tesla Employees

August 19, 2023

CelLink Corporation, “founded in 2012 to develop large, high-conductance flexible circuits for the solar, LED, and battery industries”, has filed what appears to be its first patent litigation, accusing Manaflex LLC (5:23-cv-04231) of infringing a patent generally related to “forming interconnect circuits”. The plaintiff also pleads a claim for trade secret misappropriation, alleging that after it entered into a April 2016 nondisclosure agreement with Tesla, it disclosed “a number of its most valuable trade secrets” and that two Tesla employees then left the company, formed Manaflex, and used CelLink’s confidential information at Manaflex, even allegedly disclosing CelLink’s trade secrets to the public by applying for a patent of its own on the same technology.
