New Campaign Launched over “Automatic Content Recognition” for Targeted Advertising

September 22, 2023

Created in Delaware this past March, Anonymous Media Research Holdings LLC has filed its first litigation, suing Roku (1:23-cv-01143) and Samsung (2:23-cv-00439) in separate Western District of Texas complaints. Asserted against each defendant are six patents generally related to “automatic content recognition” (ACR), which the plaintiff characterizes as technology for monitoring a user’s activity to better target and personalize delivered advertisements. The defendants are accused of infringement through the provision of “software systems, hardware systems, network architecture, products, and services” that enable their respective “ACR-based” offerings.
