SanDisk to Acquire SSD Company for $327 Million

May 16, 2011-  Flash memory storage company, SanDisk, today announced it will acquire solid state drive  (SSD) company, Pliant, for $327 million.  SanDisk’s announcement cited the growth of multi-level cell SSD flash memory in enterprise drives and predictions that the enterprise SSD market will generate $4.2 billion in revenues by 2014.  Pliant lists Dell and LSI Logic as its OEM customers.
