New Smart Optics, Inc., through subsidiaries e-Vision, LLC and e-Vision Smart Optics, Inc., has revived its sole litigation campaign, launched in October 2007, by suing Lenovo (8:23-cv-01860) (e-Vision and e-Vision Smart Optics together as coplaintiffs) and Seiko (Seiko Epson) (8:23-cv-01858) (e-Vision alone) in separate Central District of California complaints. The seven patents-in-suit, asserted in overlapping sets, are broadly directed to various aspects of “electronic eyewear” technologies. The plaintiffs’ infringement allegations target the provision of Lenovo and Seiko’s respective augmented reality (AR) smart glasses.
