Inventor-controlled plaintiff Facet Technology Corp. has filed its first litigation with a pair of suits, one against each of General Motors (2:24-cv-00035) and Intel (MobilEye Global) (2:24-cv-00058), both in the Eastern District of Texas. The plaintiff asserts two patents generally related to an “automated system” for classifying a sensed “reflective surface” as a road marker. GM is targeted over the provision of driving assistance products—including GM’s Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist—that incorporate the MobileEyeQ3 and EyeQ4 systems-on-chip (SoCs), while MobilEye is accused over the SoCs themselves.
