Equitable IP Affiliate, Smart Semiconductor, Kicks Off New Campaign Targeting Certain Processors and Memory Products
Equitable IP Corporation has initiated another litigation campaign, this one through Smart Semiconductor, LLC, a Delaware entity formed in July 2016. The NPE’s complaints assert three circuit operation patents (7,224,233; 7,242,254; 7,515,003), generally related to lock-in circuits for phase-locked loops, against Intel (1:17-cv-00457), Micron Technology (1:17-cv-00458), Toshiba (1:17-cv-00460), and Qualcomm (1:17-cv-00459). At issue are processors used within desktop and laptop computers (Intel) and within mobile devices (Qualcomm), as well as certain memory products (Micron, Toshiba). Smart Semiconductor acquired the patents, along with ten others, from the estate of the sole named inventor, Dr. Sangbeom Park, after his death.
