GPS Industries [NPE] filed suit against Bushnell, Garmin and five other companies specializing in GPS related products over a patent related to position and distance finding systems, specifically for the sport of golf. GPS Industries had filed two previous suits. The plaintiff obtained the asserted patent through a merger with Optimal Golf Solutions in July 2009.  Optimal Golf Solution was issued the patent in November 1994. 5/10, Western District of Texas, 1:2011cv00385.
