ANDSF Server Products at Issue in New Quarterhill Suit

October 7, 2017

Mobile Data Off-Loading Inc. (MDO) has filed its first litigation to date, suing Amdocs (1:17-cv-07106) over a wireless communications patent that issued last year. MDO, which is a subsidiary of Wi-LAN Technologies Inc. (itself controlled by Quarterhill Inc.), is a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in Costa Mesa, California; it has sued Amdocs in the District of Illinois, alleging proper venue in part because the defendant—a multinational company with headquarters in Chesterfield, Missouri—maintains an office in Chicago. Amdocs is accused of infringement through the provision of Access Network Discovery and Selection Function (ANDSF) server products.
