Muvox LLC, another recently formed New Mexico plaintiff, has launched litigation, suing first Bertelsmann SE & Co. (BMG Rights Management) (2:24-cv-00655) and then IBM (2:24-cv-00693), both over a single patent generally related to determining a song’s “mood” based on “frequency characteristics” and selecting another song with a similar “mood”. Respectively targeted are the provision of song recommendation features within the BMG Synch service and music analysis and creation within the IBM Watson BEAT music generation tool.
