In a new Northern District of California complaint, Samsung (3:24-cv-06567) seeks declaratory judgments of noninfringement of four patents broadly directed to using sensors on an electronic device to capture location and/or movement data. CyWee Group Ltd. and CM HK, Ltd. are named as defendants, CM HK characterized as the alleged “alter ego, agent, and/or successor of CyWee”. Samsung pleads that “over the course of the last five to six months in communications regarding resolution of another matter between Samsung and CyWee”, the defendants have alleged that they intend to file a patent infringement action (with the four patents) against Samsung over its “mobile devices”.
