Again targeting the provision of Wi-Fi 6-enabled devices, Korean plaintiff Wilus Institute of Standards & Technology, Inc. (WILUS) has filed another pair of Eastern District of Texas complaints, one against each of HP (2:25-cv-00069) and Samsung (2:25-cv-00070). Last September, this plaintiff filed two cases against each of HP and Samsung, as well as two against ASUSTek (AskeyComputer), all of which are now consolidated before Chief Judge Rodney Gilstrap. The defendants have just filed answers as well as counterclaims addressing the obligations of both WILUS and Sisvel International S.A. to license the patents-in-suit on fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) terms.
